Marc Malon

Working for you.

Representing Biddeford in District 133

About Marc

I’m a Biddeford native, a public school parent, and someone who has spent my career in public service—both behind the scenes and now in the Maine House. I live here with my wife Jenn and our two daughters, and like a lot of families, I’m thinking every day about what kind of future we’re building for our kids.

Before being elected, I worked in the Maine Attorney General’s Office and as a legislative aide, gaining firsthand experience in how government works—and where it falls short. Today, I serve on the Housing and Economic Development Committee, focused on expanding opportunity and making sure our communities can grow in a way that works for everyone.

I’m running because I believe government should work for people—not the other way around. We’ve made real progress on housing, healthcare, and school funding, but there’s more to do. I’m focused on building an economy where working families can afford to live, strengthening our schools, and making sure Biddeford continues to be a place where people can put down roots and thrive.

  • “Marc Malon has served tirelessly as our representative since 2022 to advocate for affordable housing and health care in our state and more funding for education. He is passionate about public service and works with leaders on both sides of the aisle to pass policies that create opportunities for our state and take care of Maine people. His transparency and integrity as a representative are needed now more than ever. As a mom, as an educator and as a member of Biddeford school committee Marc is the person I trust in Augusta.”

    — Meagan Desjardins, Biddeford School Committee Member

  • “Marc cares deeply about Biddeford, appreciating our history and understanding the challenges we face. In Augusta, he has fought for housing, for our environment, and for property tax relief. He is responsive, transparent, and accountable. We are proud to be represented by Marc in the Maine House.”

    — Diane and Bob Cyr, Biddeford

  • I am running because we need to make government work for people, to help Biddeford’s hardworking families thrive in our city. We’ve made progress in creating housing opportunities, protecting health care, and fighting for fair state funding for Biddeford schools, but there is more work to do and I am ready to do it.

  • Big corporations and tech oligarchs are stifling competition and stepping all over consumers. We need to take the power back so that communities and small businesses can thrive.

  • I am a parent of two kids, ages 13 and 8. I lie awake at night worried about their future. These policies matter.

What Matters Most

Affordable Housing

I’ve worked to pass legislation that increases housing supply because too many people are struggling to find a place they can afford. We need more housing of all types so working families can stay in Biddeford and build their lives here.

Good-Paying Jobs & Renewable Energy

I see real opportunity to grow Maine’s renewable energy sector in a way that creates good-paying jobs and lowers costs. We can lead on clean energy while strengthening our local economy and supporting workers.

Property Tax Relief

I hear from homeowners all the time who feel squeezed by rising property taxes. I’m focused on real, practical solutions that bring relief while still funding the services our communities rely on.

Public Education Funding

As a public school parent, this is personal. I’ve fought to reform Maine’s school funding formula so communities like Biddeford get their fair share. Strong schools are the foundation of strong communities.

Healthcare Access

I’ve worked to protect healthcare access because families shouldn’t have to worry about whether they can get the care they need. This is about stability, security, and doing right by Maine people.

Standing Up to Corporate Power

Right now, too much power is concentrated in the hands of big corporations and tech giants. I believe we need to push back, strengthen competition, and make sure small businesses and local communities can thrive.

Past Accomplishments

Passed Housing Legislation

I’ve sponsored and helped pass multiple bills to increase housing supply and make it easier to build homes Mainers can afford.

Reformed School Funding

I worked as part of a broad coalition to fix Maine’s school funding formula, helping communities like Biddeford get a fairer share of state support.

Protected Voting Rights

I’ve stood up to protect access to the ballot and make sure every Mainer can participate in our democracy.

Advanced Housing & Economic Policy

On the Housing and Economic Development Committee, I’ve helped shape policies that support job growth, smart development, and stronger local economies.

Delivered for Constituents

I’ve built a reputation for being responsive, accessible, and willing to step in to help people navigate state government and get answers.

Advocated for Working Families

From housing to healthcare to education funding, I’ve consistently pushed policies aimed at helping working families get ahead and stay in their communities.
